July Recap | 2020

March Recap | 2020

I had another good reading month! I was able to get through nine books this month, and I’m still very ahead for my reading challenge.

Riot Baby by Tochi Onyebuchi – February 28th – March 2nd
★★★★☆

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman – March 1st – 3rd
★★★★☆

The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood – March 3rd – 4th
★★★★☆

Elevation by Stephen King – March 5th
★★★★☆

The Toll by Neal Shusterman – February 29th – March 12th
★★★★☆

You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen – March 12th – 14th
★★★☆☆

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson – March 19th – 26th
★★★☆☆

10% Happier by Dan Harris – March 26th – 27th
★★★★☆

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo – March 28th – 31st
★★★☆☆

One of the other things I did this month was clear out some books I’m no longer looking to keep, and then get together an inventory of all the books I own, and which ones I’ve read. It turns out I’ve only read about half of my owned books, which is much lower than I thought it would be! This totals about 90 books, which is absolutely banana to me. I’m going to focus on trying to get that number down over the next few months, so some of those will be on my April TBR next week!

January Recap | 2020

We’re already one month down! There’s only eleven more to go!

I read six books this month, and I feel like I’m off to a pretty good start with my goal of 52. I also read across a decent variety of genres, with one non-fiction, one young adult fantasy, one adult fantasy, one graphic novel, a contemporary, and one young adult paranormal novel. Next month I’m going to be away for about a week, and I’m definitely looking forward to spending most of that time reading.

Here’s what I read this month!

Come Tumbling Down by Seanan McGuire – January 12th – 15th
★★★☆☆

Seven Brief Lessons on Physics by Carlo Rovelli – January 16th – 17th
★★★☆☆

Holy Sister by Mark Lawrence – January 18th – 20th
★★★★☆

Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons – January 17th – 22nd
★★★★★

Now Entering Addamsville by Francesca Zappia – January 23rd – 24th
★★★☆☆

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng – January 27th – 30th
★★★★★

Overall I’m super happy that I finished the Book of the Ancestor trilogy, and I’m really excited to move on to more of Mark Lawrence’s books in the future, as well as more of Seanan McGuire’s. Celeste Ng totally surprised me with Little Fires Everywhere. But more than anything, I’m glad I finally got to reading Watchmen, but I’ll talk more about that in my upcoming review.

December Recap | 2019

A blog post? On a Monday?

As I mentioned on Friday, this is something new that I’m trying this year. The aim is to have recap, stat, and other types of content on Mondays, as well as having weekly reviews on Fridays. There are a lot of books that I’m really excited to read in 2020.

As for December, I didn’t get to complete any books during the month, and took the time for the holidays to spend time with my family and focus on work. I’m excited to jump back into reading in January, and my January TBR will be posted in a few weeks!
