Conquering The Slump

It’s been a while, a long while.

I’ve been having trouble recently with maintaining focus. I had so much planned to read for March, April, and May, and I didn’t get through any of it. Instead, there were shows and movies that I wanted to watch, games I wanted to play, and people I wanted to spend time with. And I did that.

But the best part about it, is that it’s okay. I took a break, consumed different media, and got back into writing. I wasn’t reading books, but I’ve still been reading. I got to rediscover some of my favorite writing and author blogs, read through tips, connect with other writers, and lately beta reading a fantasy novel for someone.

It’s been wonderful to take a break, and now I’m ready to get back.

After I finish beta reading this novel (which I can’t talk about, though it’s wonderful) I’m planning on finishing out some of the books I was so looking forward to this spring, and some of the titles that I pre-ordered.

I guess this post is basically to say I’m here, alive, writing and not reading for the moment. I’m still planning on hitting my goal of 52 books this year, even if I’m technically six books behind schedule now.

Happy reading!
